My big boy is 1 year old today!!!

Okay, so I've been emotional! It's so weird to think that a year ago today I was holding this tiny little guy in my arms for the first time. Britain's delivery was relatively perfect! Ty and I started timing contractions at 8:00 p.m. on June 5th, but I wouldn't let him take me in until 3:30 a.m. the next morning because I was NOT going to be sent home for false labor. Between 8:00 p.m. and 3:30 a.m. I sent Tyler out for milk because I wanted cereal and a slurpee. We also watched several movies while it stormed outside. It was storming pretty bad on the way up to the hospital...it was scary and yet so exciting. How special it was to hear that I was dilated to a 4 and 100% effaced. "You're staying here until that baby comes," the nurse told me. My labor pain got worse and worse and then I finally got the epidural...HEAVEN! After that the pain wasn't too bad. My water broke and 45 minutes later I felt really bad pain in the left side of me. They gave me more epidural, but I still felt it. I panicked thinking the left side of my body was immuned to the epidural. Come to find out...Britain's head was already ready to come out and that's why I felt a bit more pain. He came after only 29 minutes of pushing and he's was PERFECT! I just didn't understand then that I would come to love this little spirit more than I could ever imagine. Never have I felt such joy! Never have I felt closer to my Heavenly Father than this past year. Moving away from everything that's familiar and becoming responsible for one of his choice spirits draws me to my knees often. We are so honored to be Britain's parents and love him soooo much! We will post more pics of his birthday party later this weekend!!!!!
