Easter bunny, eggs, and candy...couldn't be better!

What a great Easter we had! It was a beautiful and sunny day and it was General Conference for our church so we got to relax at home with just our little family! I felt like I should make a nice big meal for us, but Ty suggested just keeping it simple so we could enjoy the day and that's what we did! We started with an egg hunt and Britain was thrilled!!! He didn't go to sleep until 11:00 p.m. the night before because he was SO excited for the Easter Bunny! He would scream, jump and run everytime he found an egg....then he would shake it and put it in his bucket! Well, after a few eggs he started giving some to Braden and I was so impressed that he was sharing! Well...come to find out...when he shook the egg if he heard the jellybeans inside then he'd put it in his basket, but if he shook it and didn't hear anything then he would give it to Braden because he thought there was no candy in it! :) Hilarious...watching him shake every egg! It was very surprising to him when we opened Braden's eggs and there were laffy taffys inside when he thought there wasn't anything! I guess laffy taffys don't make sounds when you shake them...those are his favorite candy and that's why the Easter Bunny brought them in the first place!!! He "lovingly" decided to switch candy "wif" (with) Braden because Braden can't chew laffy taffy, but he can chew jelly beans I guess!

Our Easter Bunny cake! Britain was a HUGE helper making this and it was so cute seeing him get excited! When I made the frosting he thought I was "so awesome!" It was the best frosting I've ever tasted by the way! Then he got to choose what color we make the bow tie and that was ever more awesome! Then he got to put sprinkles on! The chocolate chips were probably his favorite as many more went in his mouth than on the cake!

I decided not to hold Braden back anymore and there is a perfect little handprint in the cake...cuteness!

Conference was amazing as always! I enjoyed every minute, but in order to stay full attentive, I began coloring in Britain's coloring book! I LOVE coloring and it allows me to slip into my youthful side while still listening. Ty apparently thought it was pretty funny as he snapped this shot as evidence....pardon how I look...:)

I love that you let Britain "help" with the cake. It turned out great!

Cute pictures...and way cute cake - way to go Brooke! So funny that Britain would share his eggs when he didn't think they had anything in them. By the way, I secretly still love to color also!!!

Brooke, I love to color too! That's why its great to have kids (and now grandkids) for good reasons to keep it up. Your boys are so so cute, and growing so fast. Glad the little cousins could fit in the jammies - they grow up way too fast don't they. How fun for Tommy to come visit. We got to see him for a bit when we went up a few weeks ago. He's always good to us.
