"Blessing the Sacrament..."

Today in church Brit and I were sitting there as Ty had Braden in the hall. We were listening to people bear their testimonies and all the sudden Brit turned to me and said, "I want to go up!" I was reluctant and asked him why he wanted to and what he'd say. He said he wanted to say, "Heavenly Father loves me." I told him that I'd go up with him and he said he didn't want me to, he wanted to go by himself. So I told him to go up, right then another person got up so Britain came back and stood by me, he just couldn't make it fast enough so finally I told him he had to walk up and sit by the bishopric and wait his turn. He actually started slowly walking up with his finger in his mouth. He sat down by the bishopric and looked down at me with a huge grin. I was ready to die! He looked so cute up there and I couldn't believe he was up there and also was a little nervous for what he'd say. I also felt bad Ty wasn't in the meeting to hear him. Finally the Bishop looked at him and moved the stool over for him to stand on. He stood up there with his curly hair, his white shirt and tie and pulled the microphone down. "My Heavenly Father loves me....he loves my dad and he loves my mom....in the name of Jesus Christ..." then he started walking down...did a 360 and ran back up to the microphone..."AMEN!" Then he walked back down to the proudest mama ever! I couldn't believe that he just bore his testimony by himself at 3 years old....such a treasure!
Well, Ty came in after and I told him...he couldn't believe it and of course he grabbed Britain to tell him good job! Brit told Ty, "Yeah, I went up all by myself and sat by the prophets! The big prophet helped me get my stool so I could see everyone!" I thought it was so sweet that he thought he was sitting by real prophets, the innocence of a child.

Well, now to the title of the post! Of course we had to call and tell the grandparents how cute he was so he got on the phone first with his uncle Ben. I whispered to Britain, "Hey tell uncle Ben what you did in church today!" He said with a big grin, "Ben, I BLESSED THE SACRAMENT!!" He said it with total enthusiasm and really believed that's what he did. Ty and I were laughing so hard and had to explain that what he did was bear his testimony. How fun it is to see our sweet boy learn the gospel of Jesus Christ and so innocently figure it out piece by piece. What a fun memory...love this little boy!

What a cute story! I would be so nervous to hear what my child would say over the pulpit, but you know you are doing a good job when he says all of that! What a cutie pie!
